Stainless Steel Mesh

Stainless Steel mesh is used in insulation primarily because it provides a durable, corrosion-resistant, and heat-resistant reinforcement structure for insulating materials. These include mineral wool or ceramic fiber in demanding industrial environments. It acts as a protective, structural, and securing layer, preventing insulation from sagging, breaking down, or deteriorating under heat or vibration.

Key reasons for its use in insulation include:

Holds Insulation in Place: Used as a, often hexagonal, mesh to hold refractory cements, mastics, and insulation blankets in place on piping, boilers, and furnaces.
Prevents Sagging: It stops insulation materials from shifting, compressing, or sagging over time.
Mechanical Strength: Stainless Steel provides high tensile strength, protecting insulation from abrasion and mechanical damage.
Thermal Stability: Stainless Steel mesh is resistant to high temperatures, often up to 1600°F (approx. 870°C) for continuous use.
Prevents Breakdown: It serves as a hot-face material in removable insulation jackets, preventing insulation from losing integrity due to heat.
Protects Against Harsh Environments: Stainless Steel offers high resistance to rust and oxidation, making it suitable for chemical plants, refineries, and outdoor, moisture-prone settings.
Longer Life: Unlike galvanized wire, Stainless Steel resists corrosion for much longer in tough industrial conditions.
Formability: It is easy to cut, form, and bend, allowing it to conform to complex, irregular shapes like pipes, elbows, and turbines.
Non-Magnetic Properties: In its annealed state, Stainless Steel mesh is non-magnetic, which is beneficial in specific industrial or sensitive equipment applications.

Ember Screen Mesh

Stainless steel mesh is the preferred material for ember screens in bushfire-prone areas. Because it combines high-temperature resistance, exceptional durability, and corrosion resistance, ensuring a reliable, non-combustible barrier against burning debris. It is frequently used to comply with stringent building standards (such as Australian AS 3959) that require non-combustible, fine-aperture screening for protecting vents, gutters, and windows.

Sewing Threads

E-glass sewing threads are specialized, high-temperature resistant, and dimensionally stable threads, typically PTFE-coated for improved sew ability, designed for demanding industrial applications.
