Thermal fiberglass rope is used for high-temperature sealing, gasketing, and insulation in both domestic and industrial settings. Acting as an asbestos replacement for sealing doors on wood/coal stoves, furnaces, boilers, ovens, and for pipe lagging, expansion joints.

Also, for pollution control equipment due to its flexibility, durability, and resistance to heat.

Ceramic Fibre Lagging Round Rope

Very Soft - Compressible ~75%, Ceramic Fibre Rated to 1260°C

Applications

•  Seals & Gaskets: Door seals for wood stoves, ovens, furnaces, and boilers; seals for expansion joints, filters, and duct flanges.
• Insulation: Lagging (wrapping) pipes, tanks, and valves to retain heat.
• Industrial Packing: Sealing mechanical components like pumps, valves, and rotary equipment in harsh environments.
• Caulking: Filling grooves and gaps in high-temperature applications.
• Specialty Uses: Core material for tadpole tapes and gaskets, seals for hot air hoods, and in refractory environments. 

Properties

• High Heat Resistance: Withstands continuous temperatures up to around 540°C (1000°F).
• Flexibility: Easily conforms to tight corners and channels.
• Durability: Resistant to moisture, chemicals (mild acids/alkalis), and steam.

Tadpole Tape / Rope

Tadpole tape is a specialized thermal gasketing used to create high-temperature seals on doors, access ports, and flanges for equipment like furnaces, ovens, boilers, and wood stoves.

• preventing heat and gases from escaping by using a compressible bulb for sealing and a tail for attachment
• available in various heat-resistant materials. 

Applications

• Sealing Doors & Access Points: Its primary function is sealing openings on industrial ovens, furnaces, incinerators, kilns, and even domestic heaters.
• Flange & Gasketing: Used as a gasket where low bolt force is applied, such as on crucible lids or ladle seals in aluminum casting.
• High-Temperature Environments: Ideal for containing hot gases and providing insulation in extreme heat, often up to 1000°F (538°C) or higher depending on the material. 

How it Works (Bulb & Tail)

• The Bulb: A dense core (fiberglass, ceramic, or metal mesh) wrapped in fabric that compresses under pressure to form an airtight seal.
• The Tail: A flexible strip that extends from the bulb, used to fasten the tape in place with fasteners, clips, or adhesive. 

Materials & Types

• Materials: Commonly made from fiberglass, silica, or ceramic fibers for high heat resistance, with cores of stainless steel or Inconel.
• Styles: Available in different configurations, including conventional (centered tail), tangential (tangent tail), and double-tail designs
