Needlemat MED Certified E Glass

• Rated to 600°C.

Needlemat, steel wool, foil, and heat shields are primarily used for thermal insulation, heat management, and acoustic dampening in automotive, industrial, and household applications. 

They protect components from extreme heat, reduce noise, and improve energy efficiency in engines, exhaust systems, and high-temperature machinery. 

Applications

• Needlemat (Silica/Fiberglass): Used for high-temperature insulation in furnace linings, engine exhaust jacketing, turbo covers, and as removable insulation pads for pipes and valves.
• Steel Wool (Stainless): Used in automotive mufflers for sound absorption and noise reduction, as well as industrial filtration, capable of withstanding temperatures up to 1000°C.
• Foil (Aluminum): Used for reflecting heat, covering household food for cooking/storage, and insulating pipes.
• Heat Shield: Protects components, wiring, and bodywork from radiant heat in engines and exhaust systems.

Needlemat  MED Certified Silica

Rated between 800°C to 1000ºC continuous 

Darco style DSNM series Needlemat insulation is composed of 100% high silica glass fibres needled together into a strong high temperature, corrosion and vibration resistant mat. Silica Needlemat is processed in such a way to maximise thermal and acoustic insulation efficiency. It is non respirable, non-itchy, non-combustible, asbestos free and contains no chemical binders. Above all Silica Needlemat has vibration resistant properties allowing it to be successfully used for engine exhaust jacketing, turbo covers and silencer packing. Other uses include seals in the glass industry, oven insulation, industrial furnaces, boilers and kilns and is an exceptional material for use as high temperature removable reusable insulation covers.

Panther Felt - Preoxidised Carbon Fibre Mate

Darco DPCM Series (also known as Panther Felt) is a Pre-Oxidized Carbon Felt inherently flame-resistant insulation that can withstand short term temperatures up to 1000°C / 1800°F with continuous temperatures of 400°C. 

This high temperature felt is woven from Polyacrylonitrile fibers (PAN fiber), a precursor to carbon fiber.

Automotive Insulation solutions

Darco Heat shield special stitch bonded needlemat holds together much better than plain needlemat especially on hot vibrating exhaust systems. The stainless-steel foil is more durable than aluminium foil, especially under body for better puncture resistance - Rated to 1000°C.

Insulated heat shields can be made using Darco stocked back up insulation for vibrating engine exhaust systems can be E glass needled mat to 600°C ( 6 mm, 12mm, 20 mm , 25 mm) or silica needled mat to 1000°C (12 mm, 25 mm) or ) for non-vibrating applications use ceramic fibre paper (1 mm, 2mm, 3 mm and 6 mm) or blanket 1260°C (12 mm, 25 mm, 50 mm”.

• Mainly for gold electrowinning cell cathodes. 
• Scrub pads for industrial and commercial applications.
• Apart from our focused application of gold electrowinning cell cathodes, Grade 0 is ideal for light cleaning and surface preparation situations where a slightly more aggressive cutting action is required without the need to strip a finish completely.
• It can also be used to dull a gloss finish. Used for fine smoothing and finishing.
• Flexible scouring for intricate surfaces.
• Suitable for most surfaces including steel, timber, porcelain and glass. 
• Example: Smooths out stains, heel marks and scratches on floors.
• Not ideal for exhaust silencer packing. (See SS434WOOL)
